How to Solve a 4x4x4
In this tutorial we will learn how to solve a 4x4x4 speed cube. We have split this guide into 3 easy to follow steps which also include an easy to follow video. The walkthrough has been written for intermediate cubers who can already solve a 3x3 with the CFOP (or beginners) method.
Please note: We are using a GAN 460 4x4 M in this tutorial, Images are just for illustrative purposes only.

Step 1: We solve all 6 centres as the image above shows. Also making sure to build them on the correct faces.

Step 2: We solve the edge pairs 1 by 1, not positioning them yet though. In the next step we will shuffle them about.

Step 3: We then solve the rest of the 4x4 as if it were a 3x3. If we encounter parity we will learn how to solve it.
STep 1 - solving the centres
STep 2 - solving the edge pairs
STep 3 - solving the rest
PARITY Cases
If you encounter any parity cases (be it during the OLL or PLL stage of solving), simply head on over to our "How to solve the 4x4 parity cases" article.
